TX AG Wins at State Supreme Ct Abortion Ban Survives Legal Challenge

Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton scored a huge win for the pro-life movement as the State Supreme Court overruled a lower court that had prevented the long standing abortion ban from 1925 from going into effect.
The lawsuit was filed by abortion clinic Whole Women’s Health and several other abortion industry members and resulted in a local judge defying the Attorney General and the US Supreme Court.
In 2016, the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of Whole Woman’s Health to overturn a Texas law that would have required abortion mills in Texas to abide by medical standards including requiring the abortionist to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital.
In that decision, the Supreme Court ruled as it had for the last 49 years requiring states to prove that their pro-life laws actually had no pro-life impact, a clear Catch-22 that enforced the court’s abortion on demand standard.
Attorney General Ken Paxton celebrated the Texas Supreme Court’s ruling with a Tweet reaffirming that the Texas abortion ban is “100% good law.”
