Abortion Protest Leads to Fake Handcuffs & “Arrests” of Far-Left House Members
A dozen far-left members of the House of Representatives, including political starlets Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar, blocked traffic in front of the United States Supreme Court as part of a pro-abortion protest and were gently escorted away from the street to a shady area nearby.
The legacy media was on the scene to report the “arrests” taking dramatic pictures of the two starlet politicians and running stories to publicize their PR stunt.
According to Capitol Police, the following members of congress were booked and released after paying a $50 fine: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan, Jackie Speier of California, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, Andy Levin of Michigan, Barabara Lee of California, Cori Bush of Missouri, Katherine Clark of Connecticut, Nydia Valezquez of New York, Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania, and Sarah Jacobs of California.
Immediately following the arrest, several members of congress sent out fundraising emails to capitalize on the “arrests”.
The members of congress were not taken to a police station to be processed but instead simply had to pose for a picture with their congressional ID. The police also brought them water and allowed them to do interviews while in “custody”.
This is a picture of some of the members of congress during their “arrest”.
The Mysterious Case of the Disappearing Handcuffs
Social media accounts around the world were quick to point out and mock AOC’s pose as if she were in handcuffs. Some of the best comical tweets proceeded to go viral.
Representative Omar took the theatrics to another level and arrested herself with fake handcuffs.
